The FSCA has granted an extension to 31 July 2019 for those FSPs, key individuals and/or representatives who have not completed the required number of CPD hours for the current CPD cycle, i.e. 1 June 2018 to 31 May 2019 (“the 2018 CPD cycle”).

Please note that should you make use of the extension to complete your CPD hours for the 2018 CPD cycle, you are still required to complete the full amount of required CPD hours during the next CPD cycle, i.e. 1 June 2019 to 31 May 2020 (“the 2019 CPD cycle”). The FSPs competence register should accurately reflect the CPD cycle to which the CPD hours are allocated.

For example: If you had to complete 12 hours of CPD for 2018 CPD cycle but have only completed 6, you have until 31 July 2019 to complete the remaining 6 hours. You are still required to complete 12 hours of CPD during the 2019 CPD cycle, of which the 6 hours completed during the extension period will not be counted.
