The Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (PoPIA) requires the appointment and registration of an Information Officer and, if necessary, Deputy Information Officer(s).
Information Officers (including Deputy Information Officers, where applicable) must be appointed in writing by the organisation and registered with the Information Regulator via its online registration portal by 1 July 2021.

You will be required to supply the following information during the registration process:
Name of the Information Officer and designation;
Name of the Deputy Information Officer(s), if any;
The official postal and street address, phone, fax number and, electronic mail address of the Information Officer, and every Deputy Information Officer(s) designated.
Take note that the particulars of an Information Officer and/or Deputy Information Officer(s) should be captured correctly and updated at least annually.
